Time for some cheap and fast projects! All of these notepads, composition books and journals were purchased for $1.00 at various stores (Walmart, Michaels and the Dollar Tree). We all need someplace to take a note, create a shopping list or to collect our thoughts and goals - why not make it a gift! Each is lined with pattern papers and complimenting embellishments. Time spent was about 10 minutes per piece, depending on the treatment, see below for a little more detail and a few ideas. Enjoy!
These two books are covered in Kraft Kuts pattern papers, inside and out, Making Memories brads and some complimentary ribbon fibers. For the larger journal, I painted the edge by the binding with gold marker so it would blend with the papers. The fibers are running inside the front cover, attached with glue on the inside.
These next two are Bo Bunny pattern papers and embellishments and rub-ons, with complimentary fibers running through the spines, Thickers and a few other touches (a swatch of fabric, a few Prima flowers and some gold and silver to accent the Thickers. The larger book is meant to be a journal so the outside front and back covers have a layer of Mod Podge for protection. the inside of both books are lined with an accent color.
The last two are lined with Fancy Pants pattern papers,a transparency and embellishments, inside and out, accenting fibers running through the spiral of the notebook. On this larger book, I choose a paper that matched the actual book, so I left the binding by the spine un-treated and the fibers covered most of it.
