Up, up and away...

Happy Friday peoples!!  Hurrah hurrah for the end of the week :) although I am working the weekend so not quite, but I'll get there ;)

I have a tag to share with you today using this marvellous balloon stamp (love this!) from the 'Remnants' set by Stampers Anonymous - I've used this before in this class with Hels who showed us how to layer it like this, but I covered the pieces with Tim Holtz tissue tape first and then inked them, really liking the effect :)

I've also posted at The Stamp Attic today so here's a sneak peek, please pop over and leave me a comment if you like it :)
Have a gorgeous weekend!  Happy scrapping ;)

Travel Mixed Media Album

Hello, I've lost track of how many of these very addictive albums I've made lol, this one in particular just arrived to it's destination at the house of one of my dear TST friends, it started as a regular vintage inspired album but took life of it's own and turned out to be a travel journal.

For the cover I used a 7 Gypsies Board Book, some Prima flowers, brads, a tag and a cute camera charm.

The chipboard shapes are from Jenni Bowlin, paper from Glitz.

I also used paper from Heidi Swapp and Teresa Collins. The ATC cards and  Tab pages are from 7 Gypsies.

I used Washi Tape to cover the edges of the ATC cards that work as journal cards.

And finally another tag and a coin envelope.

For the binding I used ribbon, but that can always be substituted for rings, in case the book gets fatter.

Hope you all have a nice and warm summer day.

And then there was Studio 490...

So... last weekend I went to a Studio 490 workshop with Hels Sheridan at The Stamp Attic - I admit to not being very familiar with Wendy Vecchi's products before now, but oh boy, I could easily develop a new addiction!  What makes it horribly horribly want-able is that all the different goodies from the different lines go together so terribly well :-D  want want want!

So the fun in this workshop is that it introduced us to new products but also we had time to play with them and just create something completely individual - you can see how different all the projects were in Wendy's Stamp Attic post here.  Special mention goes to Lewis who I don't think has a blog but managed to make not one but TWO projects through the course of the class! One to watch ;)

I was still playing with my project right up until the end. and even after I got home!  But this is what I made, and probably this is the first project of this type I've ever tried; loving this as a piece to hang up on the wall (Studio 490 has some great sentiments!).

I also made a piece for The Stamp Attic blog this week using Andy Skinner's stamps; I actually didn't make a tag this week (shock! gasp!) so here's a sneak peek, let me know what you think at The Stamp Attic ;)
Happy scrapping this weekend! I am up to my neck in essay so look forward to some more crafting after Monday ;)

Steampunk tag

Hello and happy Friday! My tag to share with you today is just ridiculously layered LOL I was having so much fun I just kept putting them on there :-D

So it's probably easier to list what I used rather than trying to explain what I did!  The background is fired brick, spiced marmalade and scattered straw distress ink, with some ink sponged through a Creative Expressions sequin waste mask and edged with some frayed burlap.  The other images are stamped in black archival ink or saddle brown StazOn.  The stamps are Tim Holtz, Inkadinkado and 7gypsies, with some doodling in white Posca pen.
I loved how the three gents looked raised up off the paper on foam squares when I went to a workshop at The Stamp Attic so had to try it again at home :)  They're inked with Old Paper Distress Ink to make them look a bit aged.  I also added some Andy Skinner-esque studs to the top of the tag for decoration.

I am also posting at The Stamp Attic today (here's a sneak peek!) so please call by and say hello :)
Happy scrapping and have a great weekend :)

Mixed Media Album 3

Hello, today I have another Mixed Media album. This album is a Basic Grey dark chocolate Eclectic mix & match, it has very cool page styles, I've used some of the pages on other projects, but with what was left I decided to make a mini to put photos of our spoiled Sammy.

The part of an album I always enjoy working on is the front cover.

The paper line is also from Basic Grey's Max & Whiskers collection.

I only covered the chipboard pages with pattern paper,  I'll decorate and embellish once I am ready to add photos to the album.

The heart shape pages are my favorite part.

I mentioned in a previous post that these mixed media albums are very addictive, I still have 2 more to show you but I'm sure I'll be making more. What I like about these albums is that they are perfect for an all year theme, they only need photos that can be added as the months go by and embellishing.

As always I hope I was able to bring some inspiration to your day :)

Jubilee tag

Hello and a happy Sunday to all of you! Those of you in the UK (and quite possibly some of you elsewhere too) cant fail to have missed the Queen's Jubilee celebrations last weekend :-) thank you for the extra bank holidays your Highness!

There was plenty of red, white and blue to be seen adorning various parts of the country, and I thought I would share with you today my Jubilee-inspired tag - who could resist all that bunting?

I inked a manila tag with broken china Distress Stain and added patterning to the background by dabbing picket fence Distress Stain through a Creative Expressions mask and stamped some Inkadinkado flourishes. The bunting is a free stamp with this month's Craft Stamper magazine, painted with stripes using a paintbrush and fired brick Distress Stain, and then inked with old paper Distress Ink to match the die cut bird (which is from  the Tim Holtz Alterations caged bird die).
I cut a crown out of card and coloured it with gold Stickles, and painted the bird's legs and the branch with Glossy Accents.  The bunting is glued to a small piece of twine, and I added some lace ribbon.

I also have a post at The Stamp Attic today (here's a sneak peek!) using some of Andy Skinner's new stamps, would love for you to visit me there if you get time this weekend :-)
Thanks for stopping by, happy scrapping!

Mixed Media Album 2

Hello! a few weeks ago I made a Travel Mixed Media album for a dear friends, and liked it so much that I decided to make one for me, even though I do not have any travel plans in the near future I could not resist the idea of making an air mail inspired album.

I gathered some supplies to make the body of the album, but ended up adding more and more pages,

The paper collection I used are Abroad by Studio Calico and Boarding Pass by October Afternoon.

Here are some shots of my fav pages, lets start with the cover:

I can't wait to have an opportunity to fill this up with photos, I really need a vacation :)

Have a Great Day and till next time.
