Andy Skinner at The Stamp Attic

I am in love. It's true!  I went to Andy Skinner's gesso carving workshop at The Stamp Attic last weekend and as with his last class (Book of Secrets) totally fell in love with the technique we learned - I want to put it on everything! ha!

We worked on the front covers of hardcover notebooks/journals that we brought to class with us; this is my piece from the class:

...and this is a pic of all the books made in class - same technique and materials but all different :)

After class we met with lovely Wendy and Colin for a drink at the coffee shop next door, and were also joined by Sue Roddis who was at the class yesterday - fab to see them all!
Many thanks for a great day and class, and I'm looking forward to the next workshop I have my eye on at The Stamp Attic ;)

p.s. I also posted my DT project at the Stamp Attic today so please go take a peek! Here's a pic from above just to keep you guessing ;)

Happy scrapping!

Using Leftovers

Hello, Diana here today sharing some tags I made using leftover chipboard shapes.

I got inspired when I read THIS post at Celine Navarro's blog, and thought right away of how I have been neglecting the chipboard shapes I've accumulated in the past.

For this tag I used a Maya Road butterfly, I painted the background using a Jenni Bowlin dabber and misted the top part with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

More Maya Road, the hearts have a coat of Glimmer Mist, I left the Love title bare.

Maya road again, these are there small banner that I painted using a  Jenni Bowlin dabber.

These last two cute birds are also from Maya Road, I must be a fan of there products, I left the first one bare to match the colors on the papers.

This second one has a few coats of Glimmer mist.

I am going to be adding these tags to my prego-journal :)

I love getting inspiration from other blogs, and I hope I was able to bring some inspiration to you today.

Till Next Time

Steampunk birthday

Whoop it's Friday!  And I am off to the Stamp Attic tomorrow to see lovely Wendy, and Andy Skinner! Woot!

Ok, enough of that :-D I have a card to share with you today which could be used for different occasions but my intent was a masculine birthday card.
The stamps are Ideaology and Andy Skinner, with red brick, tarnished brass and picket fence Distress Stain and black Archival.

Hoping you have some great crafty time this weekend, I know I will! :)

Coin Envelopes

Hello, Diana here to share two decorated coin envelopes, these can be used to a hold letter or just a nice note for someone special.

I covered the envelope with a piece of fabric, added some paper, a Transparency piece from Hambly, Washi tape, cotton twine, a Heidi Swap arrow and a Flair.

For the second one I added flowers, a big gem and a chipboard title.

I hope you all have a great day. Till next week :)

Practising with some spooky colours

Morning! Happy Friday :) I'm not quite at the point of posting Halloween projects but I'm certainly thinking about the colours already :) I layered this tag with scattered straw Distress Stain, shaded lilac, spiced marmalade and dusty concord Distress Ink and Graphic 45 dressform, butterfly and cog stamps with an Andy Skinner script stamp in the background and quote stamped in  black Archival in the centre.  I stamped Dovecraft flourishes in black on the corners as well.
I finished off with some crinkle ribbon dyed with spiced marmalade Distress Stain, some Idealogy mini gears and some Distress Stickles on the butterflies.

How are your Halloween projects coming along? :)

Happy scrapping!

Cards on World Card Making Day

Hello, Diana here today with a few cards to share. Oct/06 was World Card Making Day, a perfect excuse to spend some time in the craft room.

I am one those scrappers that does not get rid of pieces of pattern paper, they come really handy when it is time to make some cards. I got my scrap-box out and started to match papers.

These are two travel inspired cards made on a craft base.

I kept the design simple with a label, a stamped image, a flair and some tiny alphas for the sentiment.

For my next cards I glued a few pieces of pattern paper to a piece of cardstock and punched out a decorative border, I've seen this technique from other scrappers and had always wanted to try it out.

I used the same design but on a glassine bag.

I've always said that the best thing about making cards is being able to use up all those leftover papers, my box of scraps did not disappoint me.

Hope you all have a great day. Till next time.

Flying in the blue sky

Hi and happy Friday!  My entire work week was packed into Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I'm just about coming round to consciousness about now :-D

I have a tag to share with you using an Idea-ology balloon stamp, I need to find a more permanent project to use this on! Love this image :)

I used Distress Inks in blues and oranges for the background colours, and Idealogy stamps for the background stamped images; the main image is stamped in black Archival ink with gold Stickles for the accents.

Before I go today, I want to tell you about what The Scrappy Tree is doing for World Card Making Day tomorrow!  Stop by our facebook page and share cards that you have made with us!  We'd love to see them.

Have a great weekend, happy scrapping :)

Hello Fall!

Hello, Diana here with a card inspired in the wonderful Fall weather we are having, I just love the change of  colors this seasons brings.

For this card I used Crate's Farmhouse papers, a cute felt flower and some pretty lace.

I purchased the flower at THIS Etsy shop, there are lots of colors to choose from.

The "Thankful" sticker is also from Crate's Farmhouse collection, I stuck it on a piece of the same paper I used for the background and cut it in a flag shape.

Hope you are all enjoying the weather as much as I am. Till next time.
