Married? How did you propose or get proposed to?
My hubby proposed to me in the middle of a Christian bookstore with a true love waits ring while we were shopping for Spanish/English bibles before he headed to a missions trip in Tijuana. It was completely unexpected and perfect!!

ReplyDeleteMy dh was very nervous and had it all planned out, but he was so nervous he couldn't wait for his plan. He pulled the ring out while we were taking a walk and asked if I wanted it. He will never live that down. I said, of course I want it,
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't want a diamond ring. Then he got nervous and said, I am trying to propose, it's an engagement ring. I laughed and said, I know and yes!
It was Christmas and my DH wrapped up, in many boxes (like pass the parcel) a card, a beautiful pre-Raphaelite card, the picture is a favourite of us both and features a young couple with the most gorgeous blue sky. Grant simply wrote, 'Darling, will you make my skies forever blue? Marry me?'

It as our junior year of college almost 36 years ago. Sorry to say I don't remember all the details.
ReplyDeleteWell if my DH ever found out I wrote this he might get a tad upset. We went to Niagra Falls for the weekend when we arrived at our hotel ( we had both just got off of work and went straight there) anyway I climbed into the hot tub with him and I was joking saying we should get married since we are here. He looked at me told me to go outside to the car and get his lunchbox ( had to get dressed), so I did he tells me to get undressed and get back in the tub and close my eyes so I did. I heard something drop in the water and him curse he did this 3 times. Finally he tells me to open my eyes and he is there on bended knee in the hot tub and ask me " Would you make this the happiest birthday of my life by becoming my wife?" we have been together almost 11 years and married almost 10
ReplyDeleteI'm not married or engaged right now but i got proposed to in front of a waterfall where he grew up. I love waterfalls. <3
ReplyDeleteAww.... We were at uni, and we used to go for walks by the river to feed the ducks. On one of those walks, when it had been raining and it was dark and the lights were sparkling and reflecting on the river's surface and on the wet pathway, he dropped down on one knee (in the wet!) to ask if I'd make him really happy by agreeing to be his wife :-) Brings happy tears to remember those details!
ReplyDeleteMy husband proposed on a dinner cruise in Cancun - it was our first vacation together. I was shocked!
ReplyDeleteHe used a Mary Moo Moo (i collect them) that was proposing and asked me in our favorite steak restaurant.
ReplyDeleteMy husband proposed to me in our apartment out of the blue. Apparently he'd been carrying the ring around waiting for the perfect moment and he couldn't wait any longer. I was wearing a nightgown and looked a fright. I guess that means he really loves me right? LOL

I grabbed a calendar and picked a date...romantic? no!
but, now it's 44 years later and he still says "I love you" daily.
