A quick tag and some happy news!

Hi and welcome to Friday!  I have a quick tag to share with you today using some of my favourite colours and some Andy Skinner and Paperartsy stamps.  The background was inked with scattered straw, spiced marmalade and fired brick Distress Ink (yes I am obsessed with these colours!) and then stamped in black Archival ink with stamps from Andy's Nature stamp set.

I splattered some fired brick Distress stain across the tag, and sprayed some iridescent gold Glimmer Mist for a bit of shimmer.  I added a stamped clockwork flower from Paperartsy and a few small flowers punched from manuscript paper (plus some orange and gold Stickles for sparkle!).  Just can't resist playing with those sunset colours!

Old is New Again

I've been sorting my old and forgotten paper collections and kits, most of then only have leftover pieces, but I still set a goal to try and use as much as I can to reduce the big pile.

My first project are these little notebooks. 

Remember THIS album? well I only used the cover of the Studio Calico Journal Woodgrain, the inside has a 60 page notepad, I cut it almost in half

The first section of the notepad is already binned,  I only needed to add the cover to it.

For the second part I used THIS binding technique.

Instead of fabric I used Washi Tape.

My third notebook is a Leaky Shed Studio 4x4 Album, I took the spiral off to decorate the complete cover.

This notebook has three dividers.

I found a lot of paper I still like that can be combined with new paper and embellishments, more Old is New Again projects to come.

AE Day/Week in the Life

Hello, Diana here :)

Ali Edwards is well known in our crafty world for her wonderful projects that focus on everyday life. After years of admiring her work I finally participated in one of her online classes at Big Pictures.

I used the Simple Stories Mix & Match 8X6 album and page protectors.

Day in the Life is not an online class, but it is an Ali E. project that a lot of our fellow scrappers are adding to there Project Life album, I am not participating in project life but found this idea fun and I wanted to try it.  I picked a Saturday because my week days are very boring and on this particular Saturday I had plans to run some errands and go out in the evening, I wish all my Saturday's were similar to this one lol.

This is my cover page.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye Follow your Heart collection, the journal cards are from Jenni Bowlin and the notebook pages from Making Memories.

 I really like working with the pocket pages.

Week In the Life cover page

Most of the ladies started there pages on a Monday, I wanted to document the day I went to see Titanic, 15 years after the 1st time I saw it in a movie theater :) so I started mine on Saturday.

I'll skip some days to avoid a photo overload and only share a few pages.

The Weekday buttons are from A Flair for Buttons there are tons of cute, pretty, cool and amazing  flair designs in her etsy shop.

On Friday I only took a few photos, a sign that a week is the longest I can go with this type of project.

Spring Distress tag

Hello and happy Friday! I have a tag to share with you today using the new Spring Distress Inks - loving these colours!  I used all three on the tag, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feather and Shaded Lilac.  

I stamped the background image first from the Tim Holtz Remnants stamp set using black Archival Ink and then just added Distress Ink and water in layers on top.  I also added some ink splats with broken china and scattered straw Distress Stains, and shaded around the edges with aged mahogany Distress Ink to give it a border - I liked how this made it look almost rainbow coloured.

 I stamped the 5c stamp onto card and punched out the circle with a 1" circle punch, and then coloured these with each of the new Spring colours.  I outlined them with white Posca pen to make them stand out and then stuck them down with foam pads so they were raised.

I coloured some crumpled ribbon with broken china Distress Stain to match the tag, and the caption is a saying I found on the internet by Ralph Waldo Emerson which I printed out on my Dymo.

Mixed Media Album 1

Hello, Diana here; this is the week I share a mini album tutorial, but because of the simplicity of this album  I'd rather not call it a tutorial.

Every time I see Mixed Media albums I am inspired by there uniqueness, that is the reason I decided to make not one but several :)  

The beauty of this type of album is that you can use scraps from other projects, I coordinated a bunch of my leftover papers with some envelopes and a plastic zip bag I got at an office supply store a few years ago.

For my front and back covers I used two chipboard pieces from a 7 gypsies album, and a few other chip board and manila pieces to go inside the album.

Once I had selected the quantities I was going to use I covered them with pattern paper.

Here are all the pages.

All it needs is photos and some embellishing.

The HERE tag is from Ormolu, I used some Wood Veneer shaped from Studio Calico and a Flair from American Crafts.

I have to warn you that these albums are very addictive; once I started to group and coordinate papers I just could not stop. More on those on another post :)

A little card making!

Good morning everyone!  Julie here with a few cards to share.  Lately I've been a bit pressed for time when it comes to making my cards and last night I created these cards entirely from scraps!  I love when that happens!  

The first card uses some scrap paper from The Girls' Paperie (love this line!!!!)  I also used some Prima flowers and Hero Arts pearls as flower centers.  The flower with the button came that way from a Recollections card embellishment pack.  I added a bit of washi tape and a Melissa Frances rub on to complete the card.

The second card I have to share also uses some odds and ends from a Recollections card embellishment pack.  Those are so fun and available at Michaels.  The only thing not from the kit (besides the kraft cardstock) is the rub on sentiment from Melissa Frances.

Altered matchbox

Recently I took part in a matchbox swap - this week my matchbox arrived, and I know that my matchbox has arrived safely at its destination so now I can share it with you :)

Here's my effort (a la Andy Skinner stylee!) which went to Anne ...

This is my first matchbox swap; on reflection I think I should have used a bigger matchbox!  But I liked it cos I thought it was cute :) and it gave me a chance to use that Andy Skinner technique which I adore :)

Was so happy to receive a gorgeous dreamy matchbox from my swap partner with flutterbyes inside... and you know how I adore flutterbyes :)

Tag Mini Book

I hope you all had a great National Scrapbook Day, here at TST we had a Tag challenge, and I decided to join in the fun with this Tag mini album about our spoiled Sammy.

The tags and paper are from Pink Paislee's Prairie Hills collection, I got the small manila tag at an office supply store, ribbon and cotton twine from my stash.

I used a smaller tag for the cover page and added his initial with a Jillibean corrugated alpha. 

I really like the look of the paper arrows and decided to try them out on my first page and cover page.

These Pink Paislee tags are so pretty, and already have a cute design printed on them.

My photos are all index size.

I also used stickers from the same collection on some of the tags.

I like how the cord on the kites look and tried to make that same effect with the cotton twine.
